Dr. Morley (dubbed the Prophet of Doom by at least one newspaper reporter) is an obsessive opponent of all things nuclear. Fearing that atomic weapons will destroy all life on earth, he recruits a group of scientists for his Society to Save Civilization, and they make plans to find a living space deep within the earth where man can survive and rebuild from the nuclear holocaust they see just over the horizon. After the group fails to secure any funding, a rich newspaper publisher's son forks over the cash and accompanies them on their monumental journey.
They design a cyclotram, basically a great big ugly metal boxcar with a humongous drill for a nose, ascend to the top of an extinct volcano, go down into the crater and start drilling through rock as they make their way downward.
Every so often, they stop for a minute to fight or to provide an opportunity for one of them to die.

Not bad
a decent example of its genre -- a low-budget 50s SF movie. Not as good as some, but better than many. It has a fairly original premise, and isn't painfully dull. Kudos for talking about how mankind's existence is threatened by nuclear war, and how hiding from the problem isn't a solution.

Genius! Pure Genius!
Were descending an extinct volcano RIGHT by an ACTIVE volcano! Let's just forget trying out abandoned mines that already have the infrastructure for getting there and they're saving all of humanity? The plan is to save THEMSELVES. Even IF they had been right the only portion of humanity they would have saved would have been themselves and the rest of humanity..well.. sorry folks.. we've been long extinct. This is just a dream you’re having by even so much as reading this. The REAL action is happening well within the earth with the expedition! Oh wait..they magically floated back to the surface of the ocean in their 700 ton machine SOMEHOW near a tropical island after descending in Alaska.. Lucky us they saved humanity, huh? two stars for utter imagination gone wild.
Hint: When saving humanity always take more than one woman with 5 guys. You'll get better odds that way.

No....Just, no.
More boring than watching C-SPAN on a slow day, as they discuss "HR162-B Amendment L" on House Sub-committee expenditures for the second fiscal quarter, and related allocations pertaining to National Park restroom paper toilet seat cover dispensers, and the requisite height at which they should be fixed to walls, including which gauge anchor bolts are to be used, based on average humidity in the off-season, not withstanding previous resolutions already passed concerning the diameter of washers in use since 1958 for said purpose... (More boring than that)

Edgar Rice Burroughs ripoff
A clear rip off of the Pellucidar series by ERB who tells a much better tale and you can find here on IA in the audio books section.

Cliches 'R' Us
Borrowing heavily from Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth, seven low-grade actors armed with a poorly written script, and driven on by an equally poor director, look for somewhere for mankind to hide from the threat of nuclear annihilation. They fail.
I downloaded what is listed as the DivX file. It's actually AVI format with XviD-encoded mpeg4 video and mp2 audio. The video quality is poor, but the audio is OK.
